On September 28, 2026, the editorial department of "Modern Transportation and Metallurgical Materials" and Dajian Group jointly held a "Symposium on Scientific Paper Writing and Publishing Exchange". This was another stop in the editorial department's "Entering Enterprises" series of activities, and it was also the second visit to Dajian Group after three years. It was also a specific measure to implement the spirit of the journal council and editorial board's general meeting. The event precisely matched the enterprise's technical summary and the journal's solicitation needs, and played a positive role in expanding the journal's contribution sources and optimizing column planning.
Shi Heping, Director of the Journal Editorial Board, You Qingzhong, Executive Director of the Journal Editorial Board, Lu Xianzhong, Honorary Chairman of the Dajun Group, and Du Gang, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman, attended the symposium. All members of the Journal Editorial Department, professors Xue Feng from Southeast University and Jiang Jinghua from Hohai University, as well as technical backbones and paper author representatives from the Dajun Group, participated in the event. The event was hosted by Zhu Bing'an, Deputy General Manager of the Dajun Group.
In his speech, Du Gang reviewed the group's development journey over more than 40 years and the 2023 paper coaching and writing practice activities. He stated that Dajun Group has long been deeply involved in the fields of metallurgical engineering, equipment manufacturing, and technical services, possessing rich practical experience and on-site data across the entire chain of engineering design, research and development, manufacturing, and installation. This experience should not be limited to project summaries and internal reports, but should be further summarized and refined into academic achievements that can be shared and referenced by the industry. He hoped that the trainees would cherish the training opportunity, transform project experience into standardized papers, turn technical challenges into research topics, and convert innovative practices into disseminable and replicable achievements, showcasing the company's technological innovation strength through high-quality papers.
You Qingzhong pointed out in his speech that the characteristic of the journal lies in cross-disciplinary integration, focusing on both scientific research and tracking front-line engineering. Core journals have high requirements, and engineering technology research and scientific research have different focuses. Enterprise engineers should focus on solving practical engineering problems and attach importance to data feedback and verification after application; they should leverage team strength and collective wisdom to write good papers, combining the elderly, middle-aged, and young people, and cross-disciplinary collaboration; in addition to collaborating on writing papers, they can also jointly plan and organize special topics. The journal will play the role of a cross-disciplinary integration platform, establish a green channel, help front-line personnel in enterprises revise and improve papers, and enable more achievements from the front line of engineering to be standardized and effectively disseminated.
In his speech, Shi Heping emphasized that the greatest competitiveness of enterprises lies in innovation. Journals, as platforms for exhibition, should help technical personnel to narrate and disseminate their innovative achievements, promoting collaboration in the interdisciplinary fields of transportation and metallurgy. He required that standards should not be lowered, quality should not be compromised, and characteristics should not be diminished; that real projects should be relied on, experimental data should be refined, and what has been learned should be applied to paper writing and revision, realizing the transformation from engineering technology to academic achievements; and that new trends in interdisciplinary fields should be grasped, focusing on directions such as green and low-carbon, intelligent manufacturing, and new material applications, to plan high-quality special topics, enhancing the academic influence and industry service capabilities of journals.
This event revolves around three topics. Firstly, it focuses on coaching and exchanging ideas on journal engineering practices, how to transform technical reports into academic papers, and the selection of topics and extraction of innovative points for scientific papers. Secondly, based on the coaching provided in 2023 and combined with the supplementary papers published in 2023, it centers on coaching and exchanging ideas on paper structure and writing norms, scientific language expression, and common writing issues. Thirdly, it combines practical work in proofreading, focusing on the presentation and processing of data, charts, and experimental results, literature review and reference standards, as well as submission process, reviewer feedback response, and common reasons for rejection analysis. It also conducts topic selection exchange coaching in combination with the column direction of this journal.
During the interactive Q&A and topic selection exchange session, the participating authors engaged in in-depth discussions with the editorial team on topics such as topic selection, submission process, and responding to reviewer comments. Everyone expressed that they would take this coaching session as an opportunity to further refine their topic selection, standardize their writing, and improve their quality, striving to publish more high-quality achievements in the 2026 supplement.
